Grace Church Walthamstow

Grace Church Walthamstow London is the replant of the closed down Church Hill Baptist Church, formerly known as Wapping Baptist Church, established in 1633. The late Revd. John Spilsbury was the first pastor of our church and led the congregation in the Wapping District of old London. Our church is the oldest Reformed Baptist Church in London and moved to its present site on Church Hill- Kevan Court, 59 Cairo Road, Walthamstow, until it closed in December 2014. The Home Mission of Association of Grace Baptist Churches (South East) and Grace Baptist Partnership met in the providence of the Lord and decided to replant the closed down church. Weekly services then resumed in December 2016 led by ‘Wale Akinrogunde. The church replant was formally recognised and constituted as an independent local church in April 2021.
